Please join us for the 7th annual Admiral Daniel Callaghan Society essay contest awards dinner on April 25 at 6 p.m. in the Carlin Commons. The Callaghan Society was formed in 2012 to honor the legacy of Saint Ignatius graduates who have served their country through military service and promote service as a calling, consistent with SI's mission of forming "men and women for others." Each year all SI students are invited to participate in an essay contest with a theme connected to the Callaghan Society mission. The top 3 winners are awarded $3000, $2000 and $1000, respectively.

The guest speaker at this year's dinner is Rear Admiral Rich Rodriguez, USNR, SI class of 1983 and United States Naval Academy class of 1988. RDML Rodriguez is a 30-year Navy SEAL and the current Deputy Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command. He has deployed in support of SOF operations around the world from Desert Storm to Iraqi Freedom and most recently (2017) in East Africa. Come listen to Rear Admiral Rodriguez share his perspectives on service to country and the role of SI preparing him to be a leader in the Navy.
