Something very special is going on in San Francisco, and it's not just the SF Giants. The girls varsity volleyball team is rolling and had a huge win last night at Sacred Heart Cathedral, ending a 5-year losing streak to our cross-town rivals.
The 'Cats were down 2-0 and facing elimination and then recovered to take the next 3 games. The scores were:
21-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-18, and 15-13.
Congrats to our coaching staff and our student-athletes on this terrific accomplishment last night and for many of their wins this season. A few highlights are the wins over Assumption (KY), Presentation and Valley Christian. As of last night's game, SI is 3-0 in league and 18-4 overall.
The road to the Championship will not go through McCullough Gym. In fact, the Wildcats last 2 league opponents are @ Mitty and @ St. Francis! The Monarchs and Lancers are worthy opponents but the 'Cats have excellent leadership, talent at each position, and so far, are battle and road tested!
Best of luck to the volleyball team and to all of our Fall Teams as they prepare for the homestretch.
Go Cats!
